Before You Book the Camper
Paradise does not book the campsite. You will need to know camper length and electrical service (listed in the description in the booking tab).
Electrical Service (30 Amp vs 50 Amp)
• 30 amp (one air conditioner) can operate on 50 amp service.
• 50 amp (two air conditioners) can operate on 30 amp service using one air conditioner.
There is limited 50 amp service at the Agri-center. The 50 amp campsites go fast. We recommend you book when the fairgrounds website opens up for high-demand events like the World Horse Show in July, Youth Show and Rodeo in February, and the Fair in October.
Electrical Limitations of Campers
Do not plug high-wattage appliances like air fryers and space heaters into the camper. If electric heat is needed, that will be provided by the camper owner.
How Many Does It Sleep?
We count the master as two people, and each dinette bed, bunk, or sofa pullout as one person. Some dinette beds are larger and will sleep two small children. Upper bunks are for children only due to possible weight limitations.
Linens and Pillows
Linens are an add-on. Bedding is normally provided for the master bed and two beds (bunks, dinettes, sofa). Towels and washcloths are provided with linens. Pillows are not provided unless you request them from the owner. We will provide pillows at no additional charge with linens.
Please do not sleep directly on bedding. Use a cover or fitted sheet.
Hot and Cold Weather
Camping in Georgia Heat
If you are camping in Georgia heat, shade is your friend. It’s best to camp at shady Fair Harbor across I-75 from the fairgrounds in Perry.
• If at the fairgrounds, book a 50 amp camper with two air conditioners.
• If you don’t need a lot of space, choose a 30 amp camper with no slide-out (less space to cool).
• If you choose a 30 amp camper with a slide, make sure the windows are blocked to reduce heating from the sun.
• It’s very hard to cool 30 amps with slides in full summer sun.
• Avoid opening doors. Running box fans (some campers provide them) will help.
Camping in Extreme Cold
We provide two full 20-pound bottles of propane on each rental. In extreme cold, a camper can burn a bottle each night. Be prepared to refill the propane bottles if you use more than two.
If the owner provides an electric heater, or if there is a fireplace heater, use it to stretch propane use.
In extreme cold, we will fill the fresh water tank, disconnect the water hose, and run on the water pump. We’ve found this prevents freeze-ups.
